Principal Investigator
Dr. Garcia Peraza Herrera leads the group as an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Computer Vision at King's College London. With a strong focus on Computer Vision and Machine Learning, he has co-authored over 40 papers, holds a US Patent, and is a recipient of the EPSRC IAA Award.
Prior to his faculty appointment in May 2023, he served as a Research Fellow in Artificial Intelligence at King's College London and worked as a Research Scientist at Siemens Healthineers in Princeton, USA. He earned his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from University College London (UCL) in 2020. His academic foundation spans multiple disciplines, holding degrees from UCL (MRes, Medical and Biomedical Imaging), Imperial College London (MRes, Medical Robotics and Image Guided Interventions), and the University of La Laguna (BSc & MSc, Computer Science).
PhD Students
Chengan joined the lab in October 2023. Bringing valuable industry experience to his research, he previously worked as a Software Developer at Accenture. He holds an MSc in Image and Video Communication and Signal Processing from the University of Bristol and a BSc in Electronic Information Science and Technology from Dalian Maritime University, China.
Chao began his PhD research at King’s College London in October 2024, focusing on advanced video generation models. He transitioned into academia after working as a Machine Learning Engineer. His academic background includes an MSc in Scientific Computing and Data Analysis from the University of Durham (2023) and an MRes in Bioimaging Materials from South China University of Technology (2021).
Zijian is a PhD candidate specializing in the development of state-of-the-art video generation models. Alongside his academic research, he is currently a Research Scientist Intern at Meta. Before joining King's College London, he gained extensive industry experience as an Algorithm Engineer at leading tech companies, including ByteDance and Horizon Robotics. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from South China University of Technology (2018).
Xinyue is a PhD candidate in the Department of Informatics. Her research explores the frontiers of few-shot learning and open-vocabulary segmentation. She holds both an MSc in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Information Engineering from Sichuan University, China.
Jiayuan started his PhD studies in October 2025. His research is dedicated to optimizing active learning strategies for scenarios with limited annotation budgets. He earned his MSc in Medical Robotics and Artificial Intelligence from University College London, following a joint Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Beijing Jiaotong University and Lancaster University.
